A house concert is a private event where a host invites guests into their home (or backyard) for a live music performance. These shows are typically acoustic or lightly amplified, creating an intimate listening-room atmosphere. Unlike a traditional venue, house concerts offer a personal connection between the artist and the audience, making for a truly special evening.
How It Works
1. Choose a Space – Your living room, backyard, or any cozy spot with enough seating works great. No stage is necessary!
2. Invite Guests – House concerts typically have 20–50 guests. You can invite friends, family, neighbors, or music lovers in your community.
3. Set the Format – Most shows include two 40-minute sets with a break for mingling. Some hosts provide snacks and drinks, but it’s not required.
4. Compensation – Artists typically earn through:
• Donations: Suggested contribution of $15–$30 per guest.
• Guarantee: A set fee agreed upon in advance.
• Hybrid Model: A small guarantee plus tips or merch sales.
5. Enjoy the Show! – The goal is a listening-focused experience where guests can truly connect with the music.
